Power Plants in Indonesia
Partnering with ReConsult, blueVisions was appointed to build an Integrated Project Management to assist Indonesia's national power supply company, PT PLN (Persero), to build a total of 35000 MW power plants by 2019. The 35,000 MW program aims to meet the electricity needs of Indonesians from Sabang to Merauke, which are the west and the east ends of the Indonesian archipelago. This will bring a significant impact on the economic growth outside Java, which previously lacked power supplies. Over the next five years, the government together with PLN and the private sector will build 109 plants. blueVisions brings Project Controls experts from different countries with background and specialties in managing power generation projects to assist the client in ensuring that they meet their requirements and deadlines.
The CG2 installation was an essential high-risk manoeuvre carried out within a nuclear environment at the ANSTO facility. The manoeuvre involved the removal and storage of an old shutter and in-pile plug and the installation of a new in-pile plug-guide assembly and shutter. blueVisions managed the preparation of a very descriptive and detailed manual to carry out the manoeuvre and then worked closely with the engineers to develop an integrated schedule for the six week execution phase. blueVisions maintained a high level of quality assurance during the execution phase from the CG2 Control Room, which was located within close vicinity of the manoeuvre. This involved extensive management and administrative support including the development and implementation of templates, facilitating meetings and lessons learnt between the day and night shift and tracking the status of the works. The accurate recording of information ensured a seamless transition between the two teams and the successful installation of CG2 within a high risk environment.
Risk Management Framework
Blue Visions Management Pty Ltd together with the Institute of Management were engaged by TranGrid to improve the network provider's management of risk. With a project environment comprising more than 50 project managers with an average of 100 projects running per year across TransGrid's portfolio, blueVisions developed a Risk Management framework and Guidelines, including tools to support the new framework and training for TransGrid staff. As a result, TransGrid have maintained effective visibility and control over risks in a consistent manner, clear and consistent processes for risk assessment, demonstrated effective overall management of risk and an increase in competency in project/program managers in risk management achieved through training, coaching and support.
Newcastle University Residential Low Voltage Consolidation
The Newcastle University Residential Low Voltage Consolidation project encompassed the rationalising of low voltage supplies from the network to twelve separate buildings to be fed from one central supply point. blueVisions' programming and planning ensured the required works to be staged to provide the client with greater control in the delivery of each phase along with rigid timeframes to mitigate the risk of cost blow out in relation to back up power generation.
